Old Salt

Old Salt is an Americana band based in Belgium performing original and traditional music since 2015. Their musical inspiration stems from the streets of New Orleans up through Appalachia to the folk revival of the North East States and into Europe.

The members have individually influenced Old Salt with their heritage sounds from the USA, Belgium, Sweden, France and Scotland. Old Salt successfully combines the different energies of a session, the stage and street to bring a folk sound with grit, dynamic and virtuosity.

Since 2015 they’ve run a remarkable course with shows in Belgium (Dranouter Festival, Gentse Feesten), Sweden (Urkult Festival, Umefolk) and the USA (Guthrie Center), to name a few. Old Salt received the “European World of Bluegrass” award (2017) and in 2018 the band made its debut in the UK, Ireland, Austria and Germany.
